Kate Eliza Frank is a poet, performer, & queer femme. Originally from Corvallis, Oregon, she spent some years getting snowed on in Massachusetts before moving home to the Northwest.

She holds a BA in poetry, performance, & queer studies from Hampshire College. Her poems have appeared in online & print journals, & been performed on stages across the country, including at NPS 2010. She’s a former co-host of the Hampshire County Slam Collective & a member of their 2010 CUPSI team, which won Best Writing. In 2012, Kate conceived, produced, & performed in The Joy Experiments, a site-specific solo show at Hampshire College. The play was adapted in collaboration with Esmé Rodriguez Vaandrager from poems Kate had written. Esmé also acted as director, art director, & choreographer.

In addition to her work as an artist, Kate is a trained writing workshop leader, certified in the Amherst Writers & Artists method. She’s passionate about facilitating writing opportunities within the LGBTQ+ community. She’s worked some pretty wonderful book-related jobs, as a shelver at a library & the promotions intern at CALYX. Currently, she serves as the Managing Director of Amherst Writers & Artists.
