LGBT Community Writing with SAGE
Kate has been leading workshops in partnership with SAGE Portland since 2018. Participants gather weekly to write together guided by the AWA method, as described in Pat Schneider’s book, Writing Alone and With Others (Oxford University Press). Essential practices of the method are that all writing is treated as fiction & held as confidential, that we respond only with positive, affirmative feedback to freshly-written work, & that we maintain a non-hierarchical spirit in which I write alongside participants. These practices help us to build a supportive writing community in which each participant is encouraged toward what is strong & powerful about their unique voice.
Online Writing for Femmes
Kate is also hoping to start an online writing group for femme-identified queer women and non-binary people. It will follow the same AWA method outlined above. If you’re interested in joining us, please sign up for my newsletter or email me to be placed on the list for more information.
